Apprenticeship Opportunity

WORK BASED LEARNING INTERNSHIP*MENTORSHIP

VACC ‘s focus is on students majoring in business, economics, political sciences, management, information technology, journalism, marketing, and international studies related majors.

We offer coaching and training support during internship to increase success rates, with the hope to refer and place interns into new jobs.

Our apprentices learn by gaining real-life experience in marketing, event management, policy and legislative advocacy, entrepreneurship/AAPI community development, public relations, and supply chain management.

Our goal is to offer on-hands experiences for students to get them ready for real life work experience.

Learning Modules and OJT (On the Job Training) Benefits

  • OJT Training Apprentices earn 1 to 4 credit hours and external services hours (Optional by student)

Requirements

  • Flexible (hours and schedules vary)

  • Hybrid - Virtual Internship program

  • Written and verbal proficiency in English and willing to learn new soft and hard skills, a must

  • Asian language command preferred, but not required.

Apprentice Development

Student Stipend: Provided and depending on the number of hours worked to all eligible interns. 2-3 positions annually

Apprentice Worksite location: 

  • Hybrid and year-round

Apprentice Schedule:

  • Hours vary: Minimum 8-10 hours (During school year) or 10-35 (During Summer) 

  • Flexible work schedule - After hours assignments

  • Mentoring and job referrals will be part of the internship.

  • Academic credit: academic credit can be arranged.

  • This intense internship earns undergraduate and graduate students from 1- 4.00 academic credit level classes, or direct study.

Apprentice Project Task Descriptions: 

Tasks will be customized for each student based on the student’s major, field interest, and ability. Most tasks are at a professional level, with an emphasis from simple marketing, social media, data gathering, business research, project analysis, industry analysis, to event planning, community outreach, case management, client contact, to advanced project management assistance. Full training provided.
