About Asian Pacific American professionals
Asian American professionals are ambitious and energetic; many are in business, finance, consulting, technology, law, health sciences, academia, and government. According to Census 2010 data, Asian Americans have high educational attainment levels in society, characteristics which are directly and strongly correlated with metropolitan economic development.
Asian Pacific American professionals and RVA Region
Our inaugural meeting was held on February 8th in Henrico County. Professionals from Asian 12 countries (from Korea-Vietnam-China- Taiwan-Cambodia-India-Nepal-Pakistan-Sri Lanka -Myanmar-The Philippines-Lebanon) took active part in a Focus Group conducted during this meeting to survey the needs of this population.
Attendees were members from the research/science, technology, health care, engineering, law, manufacturing, marketing, arts, financial, international consulting services, and other professional service sectors, to cite a few.
It is expected that a diverse RVA Asian Pacific American membership will allow for a free exchange of ideas, knowledge, and interests.
This will help RVA as a region to enhance our region’s quality of life and attractiveness as a vibrant economic, cultural, and social magnet to investors or individuals wishing to come to work, open a business or establish a family in the area.
