Asia News from AMCHAM-Korea indicated that on June 18 and 19, 2015, members of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) from Pfizer Korea, Boeing, United Airlines, and General Electric in Korea visited Washington, D.C. to promote the success its members have had working in Korea and to talk about the importance of the Korea – U.S Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) to bilateral trade.

US companies visited the offices of Senators and Congressmen to tell them about their companies and explain the importance of a strong Korea – U.S. bilateral relationship when it comes to trade.

” The KORUS FTA has already had a significant impact on U.S. businesses trading with Korea as today there is greater acceptance in Korea of U.S. made cars and thus automobile tariffs will more than likely be fully eliminated next year”, said Mr. Phan.   The companies that comprise AMCHAM come from every U.S region such as Virginia, thus we the VACC fully supports the KORUS-FTA Agreement, he added.
