VACC ‘s Northern Virginia Director Christine Do of Soft Tech Consulting of VACC’s Chantilly Office and VACC Member Venkat Subramanian, of Angarai Corp. were selected as two key forum panelists on US President Barak Obama ‘s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Small Business Forum – August 31, 2012 at the White House from 8:30 am until 12;30 pm. Ms. Do was appointed by VACC Chairman Tinh Phan in 2008. She won VACC’s Best Asian Business of the Year 2010. The White House extended an invitation to VACC seeking assistance with recruitment and outreach efforts to the 47,000 Asian owned firms represented by VACC. As a result, the voice of Virginia’s Asian small businesses were spoken through our leadership and membership.
The forum was designed to give AAPI small business owners and leaders, as well as community leaders interested in these issues, the opportunity to directly engage senior White House and Administration officials on the issues important to small business. Marie Johns, Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Todd Park, Chief Technology Officer of the United States, delivered remarks.
